I decided that would expand the about me on this page. I started out blogging not really thinking anyone would bother reading my rambling writings. Since then I have over 60 followers,100 likes and 24 comments. Reading many of the about me sections on other blogs I thought mine looked kind of lame.
My name is Michael Smith and I live in Port Washington, Wisconsin. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with degrees in Political Science and Accounting. I always loved reading and watching movies as a kid and wanted to grow up as a novelist. Somewhere in life I seem to have strayed from that path and found myself on one that I was not happy with.
In 2000 I received a catalogue in the mail for continuing education classes offered at the local community college. One was an introduction to screenwriting. I thought it sounded interesting so why not. Don Hall the instructor who taught it really inspired me with the possibilities this new form of writing had to offer. Wish I had this class when I was in high school.
Anyway I did write a screenplay but in all honestly it wasn’t very good. Don did say that the first one you would write wouldn’t be good so hopefully I have that out of my system. So other things came up in my life and once again life took me down another path.
Jump to 2013 and I am still in a job that does not satisfy me. I decided to give screenwriting another chance. I bought the software to make it look professional. I actually copyrighted my screenplay and have entered it in several competitions. I like what I wrote but it still remains to be seen if anyone else will.
I also have a page to promote my screenplay. You never know who might stumble on it.
Good luck with the screenplay, Mike. Going to high school in Elko, NV, we’re lucky they offered any kind of elective classes. Mr. McGinty tried to help us along with the senior year journals IIRC.
Nice section about yourself. Very warm and personal. Keep writing and I hope your screenplay gets noticed.
I hope the second try is the one that pays off Mike. Good Luck.

Hello Mr. Smith, I saw that you followed my blog Just Reviews, which I greatly appreciate. I was wondering if you’d be interested in writing/reviewing for it.
Thank you for the offer. I am too busy at the moment but maybe sometime in the future.
Hi Michael, thanks so much for following my blog!
Wish you all the best with your screenplay. I am sure someone somewhere will get to it soon. Until then, don’t lose heart and keep writing new ones. It can only improve with time.
Thank you for following my blog.
Hello, Mr. Smith! I just wanted to take a moment to be impressed. I’ve actually never seen a blog like this one before, that covered books and movies that were ultimately left behind. Kudos! I probably wouldn’t have thought of that.
And I wish you all the best on that screenplay! Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to read my blog.

I feel like I’m browsing through a room populated with so many things that I forgot from my childhood. I remember watching “V” on TV and thinking it was the best thing ever! Fantastic site. Very nostalgic for me.
Michael, thanks for following my blog (American Infrasound). I look forward to reading more of your reviews! Best of luck. – Jamie
Hi Michael
Just discovered your website yesterday. Thank you for reviewing these books! I read the Vietnam Ground Zero series as a young teen and loved them. They encouraged me to read – among other books – and now I make a living as a writer! So, just wanted to reach out and say thanks.
Have a great day.
Chris
Thanks.
